Last week, Chigwell Sixth Form hosted three other local schools’ Oxbridge potentials for the now annual Oxbridge Icebreaker Day. Students from Barking Abbey, Woodford County High for Girls and Oaks Park took part alongside Chigwellians in subject-specific workshops designed to stimulate super-curricular interests beyond the A Level curricula. Current offer holders Karolina and Lucas, alongside Mr Harrison (Deputy Head) addressed the students about preparation and college choice, and we were very fortunate to host James Davies-Warner from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge for a seminar on Personal Statement writing which was incredibly beneficial to all. Students left with a real buzz, with far more clarity around their niche subject interests, and boosted confidence to undertake the rigorous Oxbridge admissions process.
