Chigwell has been listed as one of the leading independent schools in the country and local region.

The Sunday Times has published the 30th edition of its Parent Power guide listing the best national and regional schools of the year for 2023. Amongst its findings, the Times identified the highest-achieving schools in the UK, ranking them based on criteria such as their GSCE, A-level, and SATS results amongst other performance assessments.

We are delighted to report that The Sunday Times ranked Chigwell School as a:

  • Top 5 school in the East Anglia region
  • Top 20 preparatory school across the UK
  • The 65th best-performing co-educational school across the UK

Chigwell School is an academically selective school; however, part of its ethos is to enable its pupils to explore the innumerable opportunities available to them beyond the classroom and empower them to discover passions and talents as part of their educational journey. Chigwell is a happy, kind, supportive school, and believes that a pupil that is happy will reach their full potential and forge their own path to success. Ultimately, Chigwell aims for each one of its pupils to leave them as all-round independent individuals who will live by the school motto: Find a way or make a way.

The Head, Mr Damian King, commented: “We are delighted that our school has been recognised for our excellent provision. Our position is a testament to the outstanding education offered at Chigwell School and would like to commend our pupils for their hard work, commitment, and for not being afraid to challenge themselves; I am immensely proud of every single one of them. I would also like to pay tribute to our teaching staff for their dedication and the quality of teaching they deliver.’’

Chigwell is a kind and nurturing school with excellent facilities set in a beautiful 100-acre site, within view of the City of London.
