Chigwell has again been listed as one of the leading independent schools in the country and local region.

The Sunday Times has just published the 31st edition of its Parent Power guide listing the best national and regional schools of the year. Amongst its findings, the Times identified the highest-achieving schools in the UK, ranking them based on criteria such as their GSCE and A-levels.

We are delighted to report that we climbed two and eight places respectively in The Sunday Times 2024 league tables and are now placed as:

  • The 3rd Best School in East Anglia
  • The 57th Best Co-educational School in the UK

The Sunday Times guide is widely acknowledged as the most authoritative survey of the country’s top schools with more than 1,600 schools being able to be searched by name, local authority, town, and postcode.

This recent accolade recognises our academic excellence and commitment to providing a holistic outstanding education.

We are an academically selective school; however, part of our ethos is to enable our pupils to explore the innumerable opportunities available to them beyond the classroom and empower them to discover passions and talents as part of their educational journey. We provide a supportive and nurturing environment, and we believe that a happy child will reach their full potential and forge their path to success. Ultimately, we aim for each one of our pupils to leave our school as all-round independent individuals who will live by the school motto: "Find a way or make a way".

The Head, Mr Damian King, commented: “We are delighted that our school has been recognised once again for our excellent provision and increased our position in both the national as well as the regional league tables. Our position is a testament to the outstanding education offered at Chigwell School and would like to commend our pupils for their hard work, commitment, and for not being afraid to challenge themselves; I am immensely proud of every single one of them. I would also like to pay tribute to our teaching staff for their dedication and the quality of teaching they deliver.’’

Chigwell is a kind and nurturing school with excellent facilities set in a beautiful 100-acre site, within view of the City of London.
