We are incredibly proud of the hard work of our D&T department; Mrs Jermyn, Mrs Chan and Mr Garth, who have now produced 1,000 visors for local GP surgeries, hospitals, care homes, hospices and pharmacies. The visors have been distributed directly and also via Redbridge resident and volunteer lead, Mr Ghosh.

At Chigwell, we are very fortunate to have sophisticated D&T facilities – inspiring a number of students to go on to study engineering. We are pleased to utilise our facilities to support the provision of PPE and work with our friends in the community who are working so hard on behalf of all of us.

“Thank you Chigwell school especially the D&T department! for supporting frontline NHS Services with masks which have been disseminated across three boroughs”. Dr Jagen John

“Shout out to the amazing DT staff and Deputy head Mrs Savage @chigwellschool who made 17 visors for our front line staff over the weekend . This will help keep our nurses and therapists safe while they are still supporting patients in their own homes across West Essex”.  St Clare Hospice.

“A huge thanks from @NUHmaternity to all the students and teachers from @BealHighSchool @BancroftsSchool @chigwellschool who made beautiful Visors for maternity staff at Newham.” Newham Hospital

We would also like to thank all of those who have donated materials, from acetate sheets to elastic, it has been very much appreciated and enables our production to continue over the coming weeks.
