Chigwell School has been celebrating the excellent news that Parent Power has ranked them as the fourth best independent school in East Anglia. This rating is based on their recent superb public examination results. Parent Power is widely acknowledged as the most authoritative survey of the country’s best schools. The rankings in the secondary school league tables are determined by the percentage of examination entries gaining A* to B grades at A-level this summer and the percentage of entries returning A* and A grades at GCSE. This is the 27th edition of the guide, which includes a national database for parents to compare the performances with other schools across the country. Chigwell School was only one of three schools in Essex to make the prestigious guide for 2020.
The Headmaster, Michael Punt, commented “We were delighted that so many pupils performed so well in their GCSE and A level exams last summer. To have a quarter or more GCSE results at grade 9 and half of A level results at A or A* is a reflection of the dedicated hard work of both students and staff. As a school we aim to develop the whole person through a broad range of co-curricular opportunities and the majority of the students have made a really positive contribution to the wider life of Chigwell alongside their studies. We are very proud of them all.”
