It was a pleasure to be back in Cadogan Hall for our annual Spring Choral Concert, with performances by 210 pupils, and featured artists Dominic (clarinet) and Avantika (piano) both winners of the 2021 and 2020 Young Musicians of the Year Awards.
Dominic performed Krommer's Clarinet Concerto in Eb, Op. 36 and pianist Avantika,performed the Shostakovich Piano Concerto No. 2 in F, Op. 102. Chapel Choir started the evening off with pieces by William Mathias ('Let the People Praise Thee, O God, Op. 87) and Will Todd ('My Love has Died for me'); followed by the Year 7 & 8 choir, Years 5 & 6 performed 'Electricity' by Elton John and 'You Can't Stop the Beat' from 'Hairspray '(Marc Shaiman) and the Choral Society, joined by the Schola Cantorum from Loyola Preparatory School sang a variety of showstoppers by Verdi, Puccini, and Bizet. More than 210 pupils performed alongside the professional orchestra. Many thanks to our music teachers, parents and staff of Cadogan Hall.
