The first half of the Michaelmas term has seen an outstanding array of sporting achievements across the school, with pupils demonstrating skill, determination, and teamwork in a wide variety of disciplines.
Hockey Highlights
Our U12 girls’ hockey team delivered a flawless performance at the Essex County rounds, winning all their fixtures and conceding just one goal. Their victories over Bancroft’s, New Hall, Brentwood, and Coopers have earned them a place in the Regional Finals next month. Meanwhile, our U13 girls secured third place in the IAPS Area Plate, and the U14 girls claimed bronze at the Essex Championships.
Football Success
Football teams have also made their mark. The U13 boys triumphed with a 3-2 win over Royal Russell in the ISFA Cup, while the U13 girls dominated Haileybury 5-0 in their fixture. Our U11 boys finished third at the IAPS Area Championships, showing great resilience in a tense penalty shootout. The U11 girls were runners-up in the IAPS Area Plate, rounding off a strong start to the season.
Cross Country Achievements
Cross country teams have been in excellent form. At the ESAA Teams Cross Country First Round, the Junior Boys & Girls and Senior Boys teams all qualified for the regional finals in November. Earlier in the term, our Year 8 & 9 runners competed at the Lee Valley Schools Championships, with the girls finishing 5th out of 15 schools and the boys 7th out of 21 - a promising start to the season.
Individual Triumphs
Special congratulations go to Year 10 pupil Isla, who has had an exceptional triathlon season. She placed third in the East of England rankings for junior triathletes and was named Triathlete of the Year at her club -an inspiring achievement that reflects her dedication and talent.
