Sixth Form pupils gained valuable insight into careers in medicine and health professions at a recent Career Networking Breakfast, held to support those considering pathways in the healthcare sector.
The event welcomed back several Old Chigwellians (OCs), who generously shared their experiences and advice with aspiring healthcare professionals.
Among the guest speakers was Nayan Patel, a Dentistry undergraduate student, who spoke about his journey into dental studies and offered practical guidance on applications and university life. Lia Piggott, Marketing Strategy Manager at The Orthodontic Gallery, provided a different perspective, highlighting the opportunities available within healthcare marketing and the business side of clinical practice.
Dr Yasmin Antoniou, Resident Doctor at Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, shared her experience of following a Graduate Entry route into medicine after completing a biomedical science degree, offering guidance to pupils considering alternative pathways into the profession. Bhavini Bhatt, a fifth-year Medicine student at University College London, spoke about her medical training and the realities of studying medicine at university.
From dentistry and medicine to healthcare marketing, pupils were able to explore the diverse routes available within the health professions. The event was a valuable opportunity for students to ask questions, gain first-hand insight, and reflect on their own aspirations.
The school extends its thanks to the returning Old Chigwellians for giving back to the community and supporting the next generation as they consider their future careers.
