Old Chigwellians gathered for the 154th Shrove Tuesday supper on Tuesday 1st March. This unique event brings OCs of all generations together to enjoy an evening back at School. OCs have met on Shrove Tuesday since 1868, if not before, when Headmaster Robinson first kept records of events at Chigwell.

The evening commenced in the school chapel with a special service lead by Reverend Michael Bradley. The congregation heard readings from some of the current praefects and sung several hymns, accompanied by OC Henry Bird. Following chapel, a delicious three-course meal was served in the dining hall as the hall was filled with stories from the past, and present. After the meal, the audience listened to speeches from Ms Roseanne Serrelli, the Chair of Governors, followed by the Headmaster and finally Lewis Bond the Head of School,. The evening ended with everyone taking part in a a rousing rendition of the School Song, which was accompanied by Ben Copsey, the Chapel Praefect, on the piano. The passion from the Old Chigwellians was evident and it was a lovely way to end the proceedings.

A special thank you to the Friends of Chigwell volunteers who gave their time to run the bar for the event.
