Revitalise Concert was a huge success
Chigwell School had the privilege of hosting a concert dedicated to celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Revitalise, a local charity devoted to offering breaks, holidays, and meaningful experiences for both disabled individuals and their caregivers. This event marked a significant milestone as the inaugural concert held in our new Sport and Wellness Centre, drawing a significant turnout in support of our students and this inspiring charity.
The evening resonated with the vibrant tunes of brass instruments, commencing with the Wind Band's lively rendition of 'Bandology', followed by spirited performances of 'Sabre Dance' and selections from the renowned musical 'Wicked'. The String Orchestra, Musici, delighted the audience with renditions of 'Arrival of the Queen of Sheba' and 'Air on the G String', while the Big Band added a dynamic touch with 'Run Away Baby', 'My Girl', and the irresistibly toe-tapping 'Birdland'. The youngest voices of Chigwell, led by Mr. McCaffety, graced the stage with a rendition of David Bowie's iconic 'Starman', while our youthful string players charmed all with 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'. The Harmony Chorus stirred the crowd with the energetic South African traditional song 'Shosholoza', and a sneak peek into the upcoming musical 'Peter Pan' by the KS2 Winter Theatrical group added to the lively mix. Closing the night, the Intermediate Orchestra captivated the audience with 'Themes from the 1812 Overture', joined enthusiastically by attendees for 'We Will Rock You'.
Huge appreciation goes out to everyone whose tireless efforts made this concert an astounding success. Gratitude also extends to the generous donors and supporters who contributed to this meaningful cause.
