This year’s Michaelmas Chamber Concert saw more than 170 pupils from Years 3 to 13 take centre stage, filling the evening with energy, variety, and exceptional musical talent.

Highlights included an impressive rendition of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 (Movement II) performed by the Senior Piano Quartet, as well as the debut of our newly formed Ceilidh Band, whose uplifting performance of The Lark in the Morning was met with great enthusiasm.

Several Year 3 beginner ensembles also performed on instruments they only began learning this term - including fifes, saxonettes, trumpets, trombones, and violins - adding a wonderful sense of discovery to the event. The evening concluded in style with a spirited performance of Bohemian Rhapsody by the Junior Wind Band.

Reflecting on the evening, Mr James Bluff, Director of Music, said: “The concert was a wonderful celebration of the hard work and enthusiasm shown by our pupils. From our youngest beginners to our most advanced musicians, every performance brought real energy and joy to the stage.”

A huge thank you to the music department for bringing the concert together, and well done to all pupils involved!
