More than twenty Lower Sixth pupils attended our latest Careers Networking Breakfast, focused on the theme of building your CV at university and during the early stages of your career. The session explored a range of pathways, including placements, internships, and apprenticeships, giving students practical guidance on how to make the most of opportunities beyond the classroom.

We were pleased to welcome four Old Chigwellians who shared their experiences and professional insights:

  • Evie Duggan – Solicitor Apprentice at DLA Piper
  • Richard Stokes – Staff Software Engineer and Software Architect at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Singapore
  • Sahil Aggarwal – Associate Client Advisor at J.P. Morgan Private Bank
  • James Botham – Pricing Analyst (Placement Year) at BMW Financial Services GB and current Industrial Economics BSc student at the University of Nottingham

Pupils had the opportunity to ask questions, hear about real early-career journeys, and gain a clearer sense of the skills and qualities employers value. The morning offered a valuable look at how different routes into industry can support personal growth and future aspirations.
