House Music 2025 Showcases the Best of Chigwell School

Chigwell School’s House Music returned this year, and what an unforgettable evening it was.

One of the most eagerly anticipated events of the term, the competition brought our Sport and Wellness Centre to life with vibrant colour, high energy, and outstanding talent from all our pupil’s.

Performers lit up the stage in eye-catching outfits, with each House presenting three musical pieces, all rehearsed in just two weeks. We're also proud to share that all ticket proceeds went to charity, raising an incredible £3,210 for ELHAP, a local specialist adventure playground supporting disabled children, set across five acres of woodland.

During the event, we were honoured to be joined by Professor Jeffery Wilson, a highly esteemed figure in the music world, who generously lent his expertise as adjudicator for the competition. Jeffery is Coordinator and Professor of Composition at Junior Guildhall, Professor of Saxophone at the Royal Military School of Music, and an examiner for the music faculty at Cambridge University. We are grateful for his expert insight as he witnessed the talent of our pupils.

Tom Burnside, Chigwell School’s Deputy Head of Pastoral, said, “House Music on Friday evening was an exceptional event which truly showcased the best of the Chigwell community. I would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone involved, from the support staff working tirelessly behind the scenes, to the HMs who inspired their Houses to participate with such energy and good humour.”

Congratulations to all our houses for their creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm and a special well done to Caswalls', who proudly took home the trophy.

Events like these simply wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of Mr Ebden, our Assistant Head of Co-curricular, Mr Bluff, our Director of Music, and the incredible work of the entire music department. Thank you for making House Music 2025 such a memorable success once again.
