The English Department celebrated a Festival of the Spoken Word, in which pupils from Years 7 to 13 presented a variety of spoken word performances ranging from comic sketches to dramatic monologues.
The evening featured a wide range of creative and thought-provoking pieces, including original student writing and performances exploring themes such as identity, criminality, and human behaviour.
Emma Rea, Head of English, said, “It was a wonderful evening in which we championed the spoken word in all its glory.”
The event highlighted the confidence, creativity and expressive talents of the pupils at Chigwell School, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
