Chigwell School is celebrating another year of exciting university destinations, with pupils heading to leading institutions across the UK, Europe and the United States this autumn
This year’s overseas destinations include some of the world’s most competitive universities in the US, such as Stanford University, Princeton University and New York University (Stern Business School). Two Chigwell pupils are heading to Stanford, with one taking up a place at NYU Stern and another at Princeton University - one of the eight institutions that make up the prestigious Ivy League.
With international acceptance rates estimated at 1.4% to 4.5% across these three outstanding institutions, having four of our Sixth Formers secure places represents a significant achievement.
Overseas destinations continue to form an important part of Chigwell School’s university support, with further pupils this year also heading to institutions including Istituto Marangoni, Amsterdam University College and Sciences Po in Paris. These offers represent a growing number of overseas university destinations for Chigwell pupils, highlighting the calibre of our educational provision.
Our international university destinations are not new to Chigwell, but 2026 saw us send the highest number to these prestigious USA universities. This autumn, 15% of Chigwell’s Year 13 cohort will be studying overseas, reflecting the growing range of opportunities available to pupils looking beyond the UK for their higher education.
With destinations spanning the United States, Europe and Asia, Chigwell pupils are increasingly taking their next steps on a global stage. Through our broad curriculum, international opportunities and support for pupils exploring higher education overseas, we provide a globally minded education one that will allow our Chigwellians ‘Find a Way or Make a Way’ and become the global citizens of tomorrow.
Supporting global ambitions
As interest in international university pathways continues to grow, Chigwell is also strengthening the support available to pupils considering higher education overseas.
In September 2026, the School will launch a new International Universities Partnership with The University Guys, building on a relationship that has already supported Chigwell pupils exploring university opportunities in the USA, Europe and beyond.
The University Guys specialise in helping students explore, prepare for and apply to universities around the world. They have previously worked with Chigwell through international university events, giving pupils the opportunity to meet representatives from universities and colleges overseas and learn more about different admissions processes and studying abroad.
The new partnership will provide further guidance for pupils considering international pathways, helping them understand the opportunities available and navigate the different application processes involved in applying to universities outside the UK.
We are incredibly proud of all our leavers and look forward to following their journeys as they begin this exciting new chapter, however, we remain equally excited to see the next cohort achieve their dreams too in 2027!
