Chigwell School was delighted to welcome 50 HMC Projects Eastern European Scholars to campus this week for their annual gathering. The event brought together talented students currently studying at independent schools across the South of England as part of the HMC Projects Scholarship Programme.
The HMC Projects Scholarship Programme was established by the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC) to promote international understanding and educational opportunity. Each year, the initiative offers outstanding students from Central and Eastern Europe the chance to study in British independent schools for one or two years. The programme not only supports academic excellence but also encourages cultural exchange, mutual learning, and friendship between young people from across Europe.
Throughout the day, scholars participated in a series of workshops and discussions, heard from guest speakers and former scholars, and shared their own experiences of life and learning in the UK.
