We marked World Religions Day with a special whole school assembly. World Religions Day is dedicated to celebrating the diversity of beliefs across the globe, and an opportunity to learn more about the faiths that shape people’s lives and values. Chigwell’s rich and diverse cultural mix was celebrated by seven pupil speakers from Year 7 to 13, representing six major world religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism. Pupils discussed aspects of worship in their belief system, highlighting the common values of compassion, kindness, and a desire for peace that link them all.
