Thursday 12th January saw the English department deliver a memorable performance of ‘A view from the Bridge’.
In their production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge, the English department worked with students from years 11, 12 and 13 to transport us back to 1950’s Brooklyn - home to thousands of Italian-American dockworkers. Eddie is a hustler - a husband and uncle whose life has been spent working the Brooklyn docks to provide for his family including his niece who he has become a father to in all but name. The production, postponed due to poor weather before Christmas, asked us all to question what a good, loyal man does when the burden of his feelings overtakes reason and the community codes he lives by.
