Chigwell School are celebrating after a very successful week of hockey.  The Under 11 team are Essex Schools In2Hockey champions after winning the county competition held at Redbridge. The boys played some tremendous hockey and excellent team spirit in all their matches and will now go on to represent Essex at the regional finals in Norfolk later this term. For the second successive year the Under 12 team have qualified from the regional finals of the National Schools In2Hockey Championships. The boys finished runners-up at Coopers Coburn School on the day and so have progressed to the next stage of the competition. Despite not losing a match and not conceding a single goal, the boys narrowly missed out on the top spot on goal difference. They will now have the chance to compete against the best schools in the region at Cambridge University. The Under 13 team came third in their county competition held again at Redbridge. They were unfortunate as they only lost two matches after winning all of their previous ones.

Head of Chigwell School Boys Hockey, Will Tomsett, commented “Well done to the three teams who had amazing success at their tournaments earlier in the week. They played some excellent hockey and were a credit to the School.”
