Dates for your diary:
Monday 23rd March – Careers & Higher Education Convention
Our annual Careers Convention returns on the 23rd March, and all students are invited to attend. This year we will be welcoming Higher Education Providers and Institutes representatives from:
Swiss Education Group
New College of Humanities
Hawkins Global Education
Queen Mary University
University of East Anglia
A List Education
University of Stirling
We have a wide range of careers being represented this year including architecture, social media marketing, banking, real estate, law, dentistry, artificial intelligence and engineering, to name but a few. We will be sending out a booklet with a biography of all the volunteers before the event so students can plan who they would like to speak to.
The delegates at the convention will have first-hand insight into the study and training programmes for which Chigwell students will be applying. With this information and advice, it should help students successfully plan their own career strategy.
It takes place in New Hall from 7pm on Monday 23rd March.
Holiday Courses with the Smallpeice Trust
The Smallpeice Trust have released their latest timetable of courses for half term, Easter and the summer holidays. There are courses aimed at year 8 up to year 12 students on range of subjects from engineering to astrophysics. The latest courses can be found here
The Chigwell Careers Network is now up-and-running on LinkedIn. The Network is a closed group for Sixth Form students, Old Chigwellians, parents, friends and the wider Chigwell community to create a careers-supportive network for current students.
We also hope to strengthen the Schools contacts and allow for a broader spectrum of volunteers to events such as the Careers Convention, mock med interviews, Meet the Future talks, Williams Project and other events.
