Eighteen pupils from Years 7 and 8 have participated in this year’s ‘BBC Young Reporter’, previously known as BBC School Report. They have spent the past two terms learning news-reporting skills and investigating the stories that interest them. Topics chosen included: drone defence, Article 13, the dark side of the moon, graffiti art and the dubious sovereign nation of ‘Sealand’, where, for £25, it is possible to become an Earl. The live news day was filled with pressure, deadlines, thinking, writing, editing and completing the production of stories. Congratulations to all the pupils who took part but also a big thank you to the staff and parents who helped.
