Sarah Crossan, the current Children’s Irish Laureate and Carnegie Award-winning author visited Chigwell School recently.  She spoke eloquently to our Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils, highlighting the need for them to carry on reading and enjoying poetry beyond their studies.  Sarah explained that they hear poetry all the time and it is not limited to just books.  School librarian, Mrs Sara Bloomfield, commented that Sarah’s performance of a scene from Romeo & Juliet was one never to be forgotten.  Later, Sarah also spoke at the Senior School assembly and then took a Q&A session from our Reading Champion and Book Clubs.
