We are very pleased that artist Alice Hume is currently exhibiting her work in the school gallery. For her show at Chigwell, Alice has selected a number of her woven textiles pieces, images of her studio and also development work from her sketchbooks. As well as presenting many incredible final pieces, this exhibition also provides a fantastic insight into Alice’s working methods and the sources which inspire and inform her textiles. We were also delighted that Alice visited school and led a fascinating Art+ workshop for our KS3 pupils connected to basic weaving techniques. This session was greatly enjoyed by all of the pupils who attended it, and they were really pleased that they could exhibit the final weaves that they completed during their workshop alongside Alice’s work in the school gallery.
