Our Academic Scholarship Programme

At Chigwell, we recognise the paramount importance of nurturing intellectual curiosity, and to ensure this, we have an experienced Head of Scholarship overseeing the provision of educational opportunities for our inquisitive minds.

What sets our approach apart is not just the range of supra-curricular provision on offer but the personalised attention given to our scholars through mentoring sessions with senior members of staff, such as our Head, Deputy Head Academic, Head of Oxbridge and Head of Scholarship.

Pastoral Care

At the very centre of the Chigwell School experience is outstanding pastoral care.

We are a nurturing and safe community which strives to ensure that every pupil can become the very best version of themselves: independent of spirit, adventurous in approach, and empathetic in how they treat others. In turn, our pupils feel a strong sense of belonging and immense pride in their school.

Pastoral care is overseen by Amanda Goddard, our Head of Wellbeing, and Tom Burnside, our Deputy Head Pastoral.

Facilities

Something unique to Chigwell School is our 100 acre site, used by all of our pupils. It houses incredible facilities such as an outdoor woodland classroom, 3G pitch, astroturf, expansive playing fields and much more. We are also extremely proud of our Sport & Wellness Centre, which is home to a fitness suite, gym, climbing wall, swimming pool, sports hall and café. Take a look at our grounds below in our drone flight video, or explore our site in more detail in our virtual tour.
