We seek to appoint an enthusiastic, well-organised and versatile Director in Residence who must be an outstanding and inspiring theatre practitioner. The Director in Residence will assist the Director of Drama and Director of Music in developing the extra-curricular provision as well assisting pupils in their academic drama lessons. This is a fixed term position (2 years contract) during term time plus 3 weeks during the holidays and comes with accommodation.
Strong communication skills are essential, as is a sense of humour and willingness to be part of a very friendly and supportive team - whose work centres around the pupils’ enjoyment and development.
The candidate will need to be energised and full of stamina and to be prepared to work in a busy and thriving department, which often involves flexible working patterns and unsociable hours. Although much of the work will be based in the Senior School (ages 11-18), the person appointed should enjoy working with young people in the Prep School and may be responsible for some curriculum lessons. Suitable candidates will also possess solid ICT skills as well as a readiness to see what needs doing and to do it.
