The Fees are inclusive of all tuition, games, societies and most clubs, stationery and some textbooks. The Boarding Fee is inclusive of laundry, but exclusive of dry cleaning. Boarding and tuition fees are reduced by 10% for Armed Forces and Crown Servants overseas.
Public Examinations and Books
The cost of entry for public examinations is charged in addition to the basic school fees.
Text books are issued on loan and a charge will be made if they are damaged or, for any reasons, not returned. The School reserves the right to alter the fees and charges at any time.
Extras
Individual music lessons are available on a wide variety of instruments. The cost of lessons is £160 per term for 30 minute lessons and £210 per term for 40 minute lessons. Applications are made to the Director of Music.
Lunches are not an optional extra. Breakfast and Dinner are available at extra cost for day pupils.
Payment of Fees
School fees are payable to the Bursar in advance or before the first day of term for which they are due. Interest is charged on overdue accounts on a rate to be fixed from time to time. Parents accept all responsibility for all fees, including disbursements on the child’s behalf, both before and after the child has reached a majority of eighteen. School fees cannot be refunded for any part of a term for which a pupil is absent through illness, accident, or other cause. Parents are advised to consider joining the School Fee Protection Scheme which may also be extended to cover certain medical expenses through a Group Private Health Scheme.
Insurance and Payment Fee Schemes
Whilst the School takes all proper steps to safeguard pupils’ personal effects on school premises, no liability whatsoever can be accepted for any loss or damage to them. Parents are therefore recommended to check that their own insurance policy covers articles taken to school and, if this does not do so, to arrange for the policy to be appropriately extended. A deposit locker system operates at school for those pupils who wish to use it, but the School cannot be held liable for any loss or damage to articles left in its premises.

A Personal Accident Insurance Scheme is included in the fees. The cover under this scheme is world wide and continues during the holiday periods and also whether the accident occurs inside or outside the School. The Scheme in principle covers accidents that are not occasioned by negligence. The School holds full Public Liability Insurance cover in respect of pupils, staff, parents and visitors.
Parents’ attention is drawn to the existence of fee payment schemes linked to life insurance policies. Such schemes offer advantages, particularly if taken out whilst children are young.
Notice of Removal
A full term’s notice must be given to and received by the Headmaster, before a pupil leaves the School, gives up an extra subject or changes from boarding to day. Otherwise a term’s fees will be charged in lieu.
Parents are also reminded that they must give a full term’s notice in writing before ending any special tuition given by visiting teachers.
Increases
Ever effort will be made to give a term’s notice of fee increases, however, the School reserves the right to alter the fees and charges at any time. Fees are usually adjusted once a year in September.
Queries related to fees or bills should be referred to the Bursar.
