For children born between 1st September 2008 and 31st August 2009.

The completed Registration form, together with the Registration fee, should be sent to the Admissions Registrar.
We ask that all registration forms are received by 31st October.

Closing date for applications 31st October 2012. 

4+ assesments and parent (carers) interviews will be held throughout late October and early November.  You will be notified in writing of these assesments and dates. 

The 4+ assesment consists of activities relating to the Early Years Foundation Stage.  The assesment is conducted in small groups. 

We will request a report/reference form from your childs current Nursery/School (if applicable).

For children born between 1st September 2007 and 31st August 2008 for Year 1
For children born between 1st September 2006 and 31st August 2007 for Year 1

The completed Registration form, together with the Registration fee, should be sent to the Admissions Registrar.
We ask that all registration forms are received by 31st October.

Closing date for applications 31st October 2012. 
5+/6+ assesments and parent (carers) interviews will be held at the end of January.  You will be notified in writing of these assesments and dates.

The 5+/6+ assesments consist of activites linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (5+) and KS1 (6+); focusing on literacy and numeracy skills appropiate to this age group.

Entry at 7+ (September 2013)

For children born between 1st September 2005 and 31st August 2006.
 
The completed Registration form, together with the Registration fee, should be sent to the Admissions Registrar.
We would recommend that all registration forms are received by the end of October, as we send out details of the exam, interview and classroom experience dates and specimen papers at this time.

Closing date for applications - Friday 14th December 2012
7+ interviews will be held in the week beginning 5th November and again in the week beginning 26th November.
7+ Classroom experiences will be held on 17th and 24th November 2012.
Examination held on Saturday 26th January 2013.

All candidates undertake an interview, take part in a classroom experience and sit the entrance examination. A confidential report form will be sent to you to pass to your child's current school.
 
The interview takes place in two stages – parents will have the opportunity to meet with either the Head or Deputy Head of the Junior School and ask questions about life at Chigwell School and also tell us something about their child. Candidates are then interviewed separately. The whole process takes 30 minutes.
The classroom session is taken by our Year 3 form tutors and provides an informal opportunity for us to assess your child and for them to become familiar with the school.
The examination comprises papers in English, Arithmetic and Non-verbal reasoning. Details of the exam and specimen papers in English and Arithmetic will be sent out at the end of October. We do not send out further past papers or specimen papers for the Non-verbal reasoning paper.

For children born between 1st September 2004 and 31st August 2005.
 
The completed Registration form, together with the Registration fee, should be sent to the Admissions Registrar.
 
Details of the exam, together with specimen papers, will be sent out at the end of October so we recommend you register by this time.

Closing date for applications - Friday 14th December 2012.
 
Examination held on Saturday 26th January 2013.
 
The examination process:

All candidates sit the entrance examination and, depending upon the result, they may be called for an interview on Saturday 2nd February. A confidential report form will be sent to you to pass to your child's current school.
 
The examination comprises papers in English, Arithmetic and Non-verbal reasoning. Details of the exam and specimen papers in English and Arithmetic will be sent out at the end of October. We do not send out further past papers or specimen papers for the Non-verbal reasoning paper.

For children born between 1st September 2001 and 31st August 2002.
 
The completed Registration form, together with the Registration fee, should be sent to the Admissions Registrar.
 
We would recommend that all registration forms are returned by the end of October as we send out details of the entrance exam, interview date and specimen papers at this time.

Closing date for applications - Friday 14th December 2012.
 
Interviews will be held in the week beginning Monday 12th November 2012 and again in the week beginning Monday 7th January 2013.
 
The interview takes place in two stages – parents will have the opportunity to meet with a senior member of staff and ask questions about life at Chigwell School and also tell us something about their child. Candidates are then interviewed separately. The whole process takes 30 minutes.

Examination held on Saturday 19th January 2013.
 
The examination process:

The examination comprises papers in English, Mathematics and Verbal reasoning. Details of the exam and specimen papers in English and Arithmetic will be sent out at the end of October. We do not send out further past papers or specimen papers for the Verbal reasoning paper.

We also apply for a confidential report from the candidate’s current school.

If your child performs especially well in the examination he/she may be called for a Scholarship interview and assessment on either Wednesday 6th or Thursday 7th February. Candidates take part in Arts and Science based activities in small groups and also have individual interviews in English, Mathematics and a general interview with senior members of staff.
Music Scholarship auditions are held on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd January 2013. Candidates at the age of eleven should have at least Associated Board Grade 4 in the first instrument offered and Grade 2 in the second instrument or singing.

Results will be posted on Thursday 21st February 2013.

Acceptances must be received by 2.00 pm on Monday 7th March.
 
 
 
Entry at 13+ (September 2013)

For children born between 1st September 1999 and 31st August 2000.

The completed Registration form, together with the Registration fee, should be sent to the Admissions Registrar.

Closing date for applications - Thursday 31st January 2013.

Both fee paying and Scholarship places are available. Candidates for a fee paying place sit papers in English, Mathematics and a Modern Foreign Language of their choice. Scholarship candidates sit an additional paper in Science.
 
Examination held on Thursday 28th February 2013.

Details of the examination, together with specimen papers, are sent out in January to registered candidates.

Most candidates will be interviewed after the entrance exam, depending upon the examination results, and details of this will be sent to you nearer the date.

A confidential report will be requested from the candidate’s present school and this forms an important part of the decision process.

Results will be posted on the 11th March 2013.

 
 
VI Form Entry (September 2013)
For children born between 1st September 1996 and 31st August 1997
 
The completed Registration form, together with the Registration fee, should be sent to the Admissions Registrar.
Closing date for applications - Thursday 15th November 2012.

Interviews on Saturday 24th November 2012

Scholarship examinations on Saturday 1st December 2012.
 
Results will be posted on Tuesday 4th December 2012.
Acceptances must be received by Friday 11th January 2013.
When completing the registration form the following information should please be recorded:
• The Examination Boards of the GCSE examinations.
• Candidates applying for Biology, Physics or Chemistry should supply details of
the Board and indicate whether they will sit for dual award Science GCSE or for
separate subjects.
• Candidates applying for History should indicate which period they are studying for
GCSE.
• Candidates applying for Mathematics must be studying the higher tier of GCSE
Mathematics.
• Candidates applying for Religious Studies should indicate which specification they
are following.
All Sixth Form places are awarded on the basis of the interviews, together with the current school report. Candidates are asked to bring in samples of their academic work to their first, and possibly may be asked to sit a paper at their second interview.

Candidates are expected to gain A* or A grades in their chosen AS level subjects, and should have in total at least six GCSE passes at grade B or above.

We offer Academic, Music, Art and Drama Scholarships in the Sixth Form but candidates can apply for a fee paying place and/or one of the scholarship categories only. Those applying for a bursary will sit 2 academic papers in support of the application and therefore do not apply for one of the other scholarship categories as well.
