Entry @ 7+

For children born between 1st September 2000 and 1st September 2001

The completed Registration Form, together with the Registration Fee, should be sent to the Admissions Registrar who will then make all arrangements for interviews and tests.

The 7+ interviews will take place on 10 th , 12 th , 13 th , 30 th November and 1 st December . The interview will be conducted by Mrs Jenny Gwinn or Mr Andrew Stubbs in the Junior School and will last approximately thirty minutes.

7+ candidates will be invited to a group session on either Saturday 24 th November, Saturday 1 st December or Saturday 2 nd February , where children will participate in classroom activities.

The classroom session will be taken by our Year 3 form tutors. It provides a more informal opportunity for us to assess your child and for them to become familiar with the school. It all helps to make the examination day less daunting.

Details of the examination day and specimen English and arithmetic papers are posted to all regis tered candidates at the beginning of November. These specimen papers are designed to give you an idea of the content and standard of the examination. We do not send out any further past papers. Candidates take a non-verbal reasoning test for which no specimen papers are provided.

A confidential report form is sent to the head teacher of your child's present school. This report forms an important part of the decision process.

On examination day, Saturday 19 th January 2008 , the first paper begins at 10.00 am. We suggest that you arrive at about 9.45 am. The last paper ends at 12.35 pm, with a break during the morning for refreshments (which the School provides).

All results will be posted on Thursday 21 st February .

If your child is offered a place the last date for acceptance will be Monday 10 th March . A deposit of £400 is payable when you return the Acceptance Form. For more details about the deposit and how it will be credited please refer to section (13) of the Terms and Conditions. This admission fee is non-refundable in the event of your child not taking up the place and a term's fees in lieu of notice will be charged.

If your child is not successful in the examination and if, in future years, you feel his/her abilities have developed, we are always happy for them to sit an entrance examination again at 11+.
