What is Scouts?

Scouts are members of the Scout movement between the ages of 10½ & 14.

At Chigwell School you normally join Scouts in the IIIrd form, where you become part of a Patrol run by IVth formers. Removes run a slightly separate programme, sometimes doing more advanced activities and sometimes helping train the Scouts. You would normally transfer from Scouts into Explorers as you join the LV.

Scouts take part in an exciting and challenging programme, leading towards the main Scouting award, the Chief Scout's Gold Award.

For more information check Scoutbase's Scouts section.

Scouts meet Thursdays after school from 4:15-6, at the 26th's Hut just outside the school on the High Road (between the Senior and Junior School entrances). In summer 2007 we visited Kandersteg in Switzerland.
