| Basically these three main awards are "D of E plus" - so they are harder than the equivalent D of E award. You can, however, not do full D of E, but just do the basic D of E requirements as part of Scouting, and this, certainly with the Expeditions, can be a little less demanding. |

Be in ESU for 6 months, have camped 6 nights' away, 2 tasks from THE LIST, have Bronze D of E [or 3 months' Skill, 3 months' Physical Activity (puh-lease), 3 months' Service (inc. helping with Scouts...), and a 2-day Expedition]. Oh, one of the 3 months has to be 6. |

Be in ESU for 12 months, have camped 12 nights' away, 2 more tasks from THE LIST, have Silver D of E [or 3 months' Skill, 3 months' Physical Activity (u wot), 6 months' Service (inc. helping with Scouts), and a 3-day Expedition]. Oh, once again, one of the 3 months has to be 6. |

Be in ESU for 18 months, have camped 18 nights' away, 2 more tasks from THE LIST, have Gold D of E [or 6 months' Skill, 6 months' Physical Activity (yeh wotever), 12 months' Service, a 4-day Expedition, and a 5-day residential spell of community service]. Oh, you've guessed it, one of the 6 months has to be 12. |
